William Tell – Newquay Fish Festival The Mount Charles Band

The roots of the Mount Charles Band can be traced back to 1779 when it was known as the regiment of Cornish Volunteers. Following several name changes it moved from Charles town to Mount Charles in 1945 and became known as the Mount Charles Band.
The band perform at competitions all over the UK including the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, The Lowry in Manchester, The Sage in Gateshead and the Royal Albert Hall, London. The band has represented the West of England at the Nationals Finals.
The band are also active in the concert arena, and play regularly at the Subscription Rooms in Stroud and The Minack Theatre, Porthcurno, as well as locally at The Keay Theatre and other local venues.
