Porth Beach Guide and information
A sandy beach that is sheltered on both sides. Porth island is reached by a narrow footbridge and has a blowhole that can be observed around the middle of the tide.
The beach is on the outskirts of Newquay it is a shallow beach with a long tidal drop that exposes an expanse of golden sand making it ideal for families with young children.
The easy access makes it popular with families or those with walking difficulties.
Porth Beach is a 5-minute drive from Newquay or a 25-30 minute walk, there are cafes across the road from the beach and a pub on the beach – the Mermaid.
Surfing is NOT permitted during the summer season when the lifeguards are on duty. . There is a dog ban on Porth beach between Easter and September.
