The Theatre is owned and run by the Newquay Dramatic Society, founded in 1931. The Lane Theatre is the only theatre in Newquay and has recently been expanded and refurbished with funding from the National Lottery through the Arts Council of England. The Society welcomes both experienced and aspiring actors and actresses.
